Because the flu is spread by person to person contact, Campus Transit passengers are advised to take basic precautions to protect themselves and their fellow passengers, including frequent hand washing and covering their mouths and noses with their sleeve or a facial tissue when coughing or sneezing. Although the vehicles are washed every night, because the Campus Transit vehicles are heavily used on a daily basis we recommend that passengers carry tissues, hand-sanitizing gels or disinfectant wipes to prevent the spread of the flu virus. We further recommend that you stay home if you have symptoms of the flu until you have not had a fever for at least 24-hours. More information about the flu and its prevention can be found at the University Health Center's website. |

The Campus Transit System is a unit of the Auxiliary Services Department providing transportation services throughout the University campus. Bus and disabled transportation services are provided on a no-fare basis. Regular route services provided by Campus Transit are available to all. Through an agreement between the University and the Athens-Clarke government, students, staff and faculty may also ride Athens Transit buses fare-free. |
